This booklet is intended to support social workers as they involve children in safeguarding in a positive, supportive and enabling way. The importance of a child’s voice in child protection practice cannot be underestimated. Children and young people have a clear right to express their views and to be involved in decisions made about them. Furthermore, their views and wishes can be a powerful focus for intervening in family life in ways which promote positive change and maximise the potential for positive development. The booklet contains various activities, worksheets and templates assisting social workers and early help workers to involve children in the process of assessments, intervention planning as well as conducting reviews in a positive, supportive and enabling way.
