‘Place au Changement’ is a transformative project that turned a wasteland lot into a vibrant public square and initiated a process which brought the community closer together. For an entire month, the construction site was open to children and local residents with three different types of workshops held every day:
- A carpentry workshop to build the outdoor furniture for the park;
- A graphic design workshop to design and paint the background walls of the public square;
- A gardening workshop to learn about plants and help with the maintenance of the green areas.
Other activities, such as concerts, circuses, open air cinema, special meals, debates, etc. were organised by local associations and artists, helping to make the project an enriching experience for the various communities living in the neighbourhood.
