The ‘Settlement Profiling Tool’ (UN-Habitat & UNHCR, 2020) guides humanitarian and development professionals through an iterative process of investigation. It aims to develop a common baseline of information to support coordination and planning, particularly in situations where protracted displacement has occurred.
It considers cross sectoral areas of work, which also include social inclusion of various groups, presented with spatial analytics and data mapping. This will form the basis for recommendations regarding interventions (be it at the scale of urban design, or large financial infrastructure investments).
