Armando is a Chilean architect holding an MSc Urban Design in Development at the UCL Bartlett DPU. He has worked in Chile and the UK, developing housing schemes, informal settlements upgrades and urban public infrastructure; he has also conducted research and published articles on informal urban development, water infrastructure, and mining extractivism.
As part of the DeCID project, Armando is currently researching participatory design and urban infrastructure with a focus on co-designing social infrastructure with children affected by displacement. He also works at the Overseas Development Institute as researcher on the Regional Assessment Report for DRR in the Americas.
